What We Do

The Heart Info project has been set up by consultant
cardiologist Dr. Jonathan Pitts Crick as an educational
programme for people with a heart condition, to help them
understand it and take an active part in its treatment. The
aim is to provide comprehensive information about the
major heart diseases, in plain English, making it accessible to
anyone irrespective of whether they have any prior
knowledge of medical matters or even basic science. This is
provided by a structured series of video tutorials on how the
heart works in health and the ways in which disease
interferes with its function. This forms the basis of
understanding the symptoms of the associated illness and
the ways in which heart disease can shorten life if left
untreated. It is followed by an in-depth explanation of the
available treatments which are nowadays extremely
successful in preventing disability and maintaining a long and
active life.
